



Lucas Loo’s journey with bamboo started in the year 2014 where he co-developed a resort in Malaysia built almost entirely out of bamboo. As he built a deeper understanding of the environmental, social and mechanical properties of bamboo, it compelled him to commit to activating bamboo for a regenerative economy, where industrial growth results in environmental and social benefits, rather than exploitation.
He started SEAD-Stewards of Environmentally-Aware Development, with three arms:

A Universiti Tenaga Nasional graduate, with a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering, he currently leads Gamuda’s Design and Technical (D&T) team, driving multidisciplinary design excellence to deliver the Group’s five-year business plan, and beyond.

Ir. Ooi Shu Tat is a distinguished figure in Malaysia’s civil engineering sector, recognized for his profound expertise in the mechanics of large-scale infrastructure development. As a Professional Engineer with a career spanning several decades, he has been instrumental in the successful delivery of complex bridge and viaduct projects that define the nation’s modern skyline.
Ir. Ooi is widely respected for his mastery of specialized construction systems, where he bridges the gap between technical innovation and practical execution. His commitment to precision, safety, and engineering integrity has made him a vital contributor to the country’s landmark connectivity initiatives. Beyond his technical achievements, he is an advocate for advancing construction standards, consistently pushing the boundaries of what is possible in structural engineering while mentoring the next generation of industry leaders.

Ir. Jess Vun is an accomplished Professional Engineer and ESG thought leader with over 35 years of multidisciplinary experience across engineering, construction, and sustainability consulting. Her distinguished career includes pivotal leadership roles, such as Lead Engineer for the SOGIP Master Development Plan and Technical Services Manager for the Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP).
A seasoned mentor and former Senior Fellow at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), she combines deep technical expertise in civil and structural engineering with advanced qualifications in TRIZ innovative problem-solving and business administration. Ir. Jess is a passionate advocate for green building and ESG integration, with a proven record in strategic industrial planning and sustainable development. Her expertise spans the entire project lifecycle, reflecting a commitment to creative leadership across both the public and private sectors.

Mohan Louis is the Chief Revenue Officer of NUMAT Sustainable Manufacturing, a pioneer in precision-engineered bamboo materials backed by Wavemaker Impact. He leads global market development and revenue strategy, driving the commercial adoption of bamboo as a high-performance alternative to traditional construction materials across Southeast Asia, specifically within the hospitality and green building sectors.
With nearly twenty years of B2B experience, Mohan offers a practitioner’s perspective on scaling sustainable materials in emerging markets. Previously, he co-founded Dragonsoft Research and Storyteller Animations before transitioning into the climate-tech space. At the Construction Sustainability Summit — Borneo 2026, he will present on building a regional bamboo supply chain, navigating structural barriers, and highlighting Malaysia and Sabah as critical market-fit opportunities for engineered bamboo in the next construction cycle.

Keng Ben Sen is a seasoned leader in the Malaysian building industry with over 25 years of experience gained across various multinational companies. He is the Founder and Director of IMetal (M) Sdn Bhd, Sarawak, established in 2013, and was appointed Director of City Top Engineering Sdn Bhd, Sabah, in 2026.
A graduate of the University of Malaya with a Degree in Materials Engineering (2001), Mr. Keng possesses deep technical expertise in metal manufacturing and installation. Both IMetal and City Top have emerged as leading roofing brands in East Malaysia, specializing in high-quality metal roofing, trusses, façades, and ceiling systems. Under his strategic direction, these companies have established an extensive footprint across government, commercial, industrial, and residential sectors, bridging engineering precision with large-scale construction solutions across Sabah and Sarawak.
